Last weekend,\u00a0Technology Day 2016<\/strong>\u00a0ran jubilantly at\u00a0Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology<\/strong>\u00a0with the participation of nearly 3000 freshmen (students of Intake 2015).<\/span><\/p>\n

Joining the day, there were Assoc. Prof. Doan Thi Minh Trinh \u2013 Deputy Head of CDIO Project ofVietnam National University<\/em>; Assoc. Prof. Vu Dinh Thanh \u2013 Rector of\u00a0Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology<\/em>; Assoc. Prof Tran Thien Phuc \u2013 Vice Rector of HCMUT;\u00a0 Mr. Bui Trong Tin \u2013 Vice Director of SAMCO; Mr. Nguyen Huu Quoc \u2013 Representative of Texas Instruments; Deans of Schools and students of HCMUT.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the\u00a0Technology Day 2016<\/em>,\u00a0Assoc. Prof. Vu Dinh Thanh\u00a0emphasized:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cHo Chi Minh City University of Technology<\/em>\u00a0is the leading university to apply\u00a0CDIO project<\/strong>(Conceive \u2013 Design \u2013 Implement \u2013 Operate) into study programs of HCMUT and the quality is improved yearly.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first year, students are taught \u201cIntroduction of Technology\u201d in which\u00a0CDIO<\/em>\u00a0principle is simply applied. In the next years, students have opportunities to continue their projects, enhance their skill of engineering. This is a basis for entrepreneurs evaluate their future engineer line-up and \u201cspecifically order\u201d\u00a0HCMUT<\/span>\u00a0to build the Graduate Standards following CDIO Projects<\/span>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Starting from 2014-2015 school year,\u00a0HCMUT<\/strong>\u00a0has developed new study programs which is 140 credits. The study program focuses on offering knowledge and training skills, encourages students to participate in scientific research, engineering and technology creativity. This is the outcome of the process of building study program following\u00a0CDIO<\/strong>\u00a0model<\/strong>\u00a0after successful appliance to programs of School of\u00a0Mechanical Engineering<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The very first Technology Day (2011) was only held for freshmen of School of\u00a0Mechanical Engineering<\/em>. From the success of Technology Day in 2011, Technology Day 2015 was held for 2 more schools: School of\u00a0Materials Technology<\/em>\u00a0and School of\u00a0Chemical Engineering<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, that\u00a0Technology Day 2016<\/strong>\u00a0was open for whole\u00a0HCMUT<\/span>\u00a0students made a great chance for students to show their ideas to others and learn from others as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Technology Day<\/em>\u00a0helps students get involved in creative research environment through which they could have a broader view of the major they are studying. On the other hand, students can also self-train soft skills such as team working, problem solving, communicating, presenting, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n
