The latest ranking of 400 universities in Asia by QS Rankings has just been announced and most noticeable, Vietnam National University \u2013 Ho Chi Minh City had jumped five ranks comparing to that of the previous year 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.91″ text_font=”Roboto||||||||” text_orientation=”justified” custom_margin=”0px||8px|” custom_padding=”0px||0px|” saved_tabs=”all”]HCMUT welcoming freshmen on 9 September 2016 with formal but enjoyable atmosphere.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For this intake of 2016, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Vietnam National University) has 3,371 full-time freshmen, including 3,184 students studying bachelor\u2019s degree programs & 187 students studying associate\u2019s degree programs. This has raised the total number of undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students up to 27,480 students.<\/p>\n

At the Commencement Ceremony,\u00a0Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Dinh Thanh<\/strong>, Rector of HCMUT, has awarded certificates and scholarships for 3 freshmen of this intake for their outstanding results in\u00a02016 National Upper Secondary Examination<\/em>, including:
\n– Student\u00a0Nguyen Huu Tho, achieving 28.05 points (over 30 point-grading-scale)
\n– Student\u00a0Nguyen Ho Minh Phuoc\u00a0achieving 27.90 points
\n– Student\u00a0Phan Minh Tan, achieving 27.75 points.

Besides that, HCMUT also recognized and awarded 13 students having excellent performances in 2015 \u2013 2016 academic school year. Ranked the second among the 13 top students, Le Van Vu, student of 2014 Intake studying international bachelor\u2019s degree in\u00a0Electrical \u2013 Electronics Engineering<\/a>, achieved a\u00a0GPA of 9.50.<\/p>\n

13 top students in 2015 \u2013 2016 school year<\/em><\/p>\n

[\/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.91″ text_font=”Roboto||||||||” text_orientation=”justified” custom_margin=”0px||8px|” custom_padding=”0px||0px|” saved_tabs=”all”]Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is presently providing 41 bachelor\u2019s degree & associate\u2019s degree programs, in which there are\u00a015 international bachelor\u2019s degree programs<\/a>, 37 master\u2019s degree programs, 30 doctor\u2019s degree programs and 14 doctor\u2019s degree programs following 911 Project of the Government. In addition, HCMUT is offering 16 Articulation Programs, including 1 master\u2019s degree program, with degrees awarded by HCMUT partner universities or dual degrees issued by both of the universities.<\/p>\n

In the school year 2015 \u2013 2016, HCMUT students achieved excellent results in studying, scientific research. Students also participated in academic contests, namely\u00a0National Olympiad<\/em>, Student Scientific Research Award\u00a0VIFOTEC<\/em>,\u00a0Eureka<\/em>\u00a0in the field of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Architects, Mechatronics, etc.<\/p>\n

HCMUT students also lead in social activities, namely\u00a0National Exam Support Campaign<\/em>,\u00a0Spring Volunteer Campaign<\/em>,\u00a0Blood Donation<\/em>, and\u00a0Green Summer Volunteer Campaign<\/em>. Last July 2016, nearly 1600 volunteers including students, officers, and teaching staff participated in Summer Green Campaign in Ben Tre Province; Tra Vinh Province; wards on Tho Chu islands, Kien Giang Province; districts and wards in HCM City; and in Lao PDR. The total value of construction sites, social security projects, scholarships given, etc. is estimated to be over 23 billion VND.<\/p>\n

Following the HCMUT Commencement Day was the OISP Welcoming Ceremony for 600 freshmen of Intake 2016 studying international programs and articulation programs at A5 Hall. With the pattern\u00a0\u201cFlight to the Dreams\u201d<\/strong>, the ceremony brought up inspiration and motivation for the students through the heartening speech of\u00a0Dr. Vu The Dung<\/strong>, Vice Rector of HCMUT cum Director of\u00a0Office for International Study Programs<\/em>\u00a0(OISP), inspiring sharing from Ms. Tran Thanh Van \u2013 a favored vlogger, exciting art performances, interesting interactive games, etc.
