JAPANESE 1 - 225 periods
Course Description
The Japanese 1 prepares students the basis of Japanese. Students will learn 02 Japanese syllabaries (Hiragana and Katakana), together with basic Japanese characters. The Japanese 1 provides students with 6 primary skills including grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, writing and conversing. Students will be able to introduce themselves, greet people, communicate as well as describe simple living activities in Japanese.
このコースでは、日本語初級レベルの基礎的知識を学習する。日本語表記のひらがな・カタカナ・漢字を認識し、口頭・文字で表現する能力を身に付け、初歩的な日常生活で必要な表現としてのあいさつや自己紹介、さらに名詞・動詞・形容詞を使って簡単な1日の行動を表現することができるようになることを目標とする。初級レベルの総合日本語能力としての文法、漢字・語彙、作文、聴解、読解、会話の6項目をバランスよく学習する。

JAPANESE 2 - 225 periods
The Japanese 2 furthers the knowledge in Japanese 1, which enables students to use the right verbs, adjectives in reading and forming sentences suitably. In addition, the Japanese 2 enhances communication ability, which enables students to use Japanese intensively in various situations, to converse with people at school as well as out in the society. The Japanese 2 is designed for learners to fulfill the 6 basics skills in Japanese language abilities, namely grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, writing and conversing.
このコースでは日本語１で学習した内容に加え、動詞や形容詞の活用を正しく作り、その活用形を用いた文を理解・産出することができるようになることを目標とする。特に、コミュニケーション能力を重視し、身近な人との接触、学校生活、地域社会で遭遇するであろう様々な場面で使える日本語の習得を目指す。そのために必要な総合日本語能力としての文法、漢字・語彙、作文、聴解、読解、会話の6項目をバランスよく学習する。

Course Description
The Japanese 3 develops the learning from Japanese 1 & 2, which enable students to practice in specific contexts. The Japanese 3 is designed to improve students’ ability to express in Japanese through the grammar of planning, giving advice, assuming, passive and reporting. Learners will continuously strengthen their language skills including grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, writing, and conversing.

JAPANESE 4 - 225 periods
Course Description
Based on the Japanese 1, 2 and 3, the Japanese 4 is developed with the aim that students can read passages of which topics are close to daily life and be able to express their ideas, conceptions in basic discussions. Furthermore, Japanese 4 is developed to help students summarize reading passages, read and understand tables & charts, be able to explain the fluctuation of the charts. Additionally, the Japanese 4 also provide students with the ability to read scientific reading passages and get understood of the specific characteristics of the readings, as well as to learn new words and loanwords in Japanese.
このコースでは日本語１・２・３で学習した内容を基に、身近な題材の文章を読み、意見を述べ、簡単なディベートを行うことができるようになることを目指す。また、身近な題材について情報を集め、その情報をもとに図表を読み、数値の変化を説明するなどして、発表することができる日本語力の習得を目標とする。さらに、科学的な文章を読み、外来語、漢字による語彙を学習し、科学的文章の特徴を理解する。

Furthermore, Japanese 5 is designed to instruct students to write with rich speciality, which helps students to compose research plan in Japanese.
このコースでは日本語４で学習した内容に加え、さらに高度なディベート・発表ができるようになることを目指す。また、専門書、論文、レポート、レジュメ等の読解、作成に必要な文法、漢字・語彙の習得を目標とする。そして、研究計画書の作成に向けて専門性の高い文章を書くための力を養う。

Course Description
The course Japanese 6 prepares students the ability to get the key points and contents when doing reading comprehension, which is the fundamental premise for studying going to study abroad. On the other hand, the Japanese 6 provides students the abilities to write correctly in reports, thesis, job applications, etc. Students will improve their debating skills, information collecting skills, and idea expressing skills. Besides that, students will also be instructed self-learning Japanese language.
このコースでは留学に向けての準備段階として、科学的文章を読んで内容を理解し、要旨をまとめたりキーワードを抜き出したりすることができる技能の習得、そして、レジュメ・レポート・論文などを正しい書き方で書けるようになることを目指す。合わせて、情報収集や意見発表、ディベートを行う能力を習得し、留学生として必要な総合日本語力を身に付けることを目標とする。また、自律的に学習する力を養う。
