GRIFFITH UNVERSITY MEETING UP WITH HCMUT STUDENTS
HCMUT students finish 02 first years at HCMUT can transfer to Australia to study 02 final years and awarded degree by Griffith University.
Ms. Yvette Baxter – International Executive Support Officer of Griffith Sciences – is introducing generally about Griffith University.
The visit happened on March 15th 2016 with the presence of Professor Sushila Chang – Academic Dean of Griffith Sciences; Ms. Yvette Baxter – International Executive Support Officer of Griffith Sciences.
The two representatives of Griffith University had shared with students about engineering career and Griffith University information: namely the role and importance of engineering in new era, must-have soft skills of an engineer, job opportunities in technology field in Australia, Griffith facilities for studying, researching, and living, etc.
Students is attentively listening to the presentation of Griffith University representatives.
According to Prof. Sushila Chang, almost half (49.7%) of foreign engineers working in Australia are coming from Asia. This figure partly reflects competitive advantages of Asian engineers – including Vietnam – on Australian labor market.
Prof. Sushila Chang also added that while the industries of construction, petroleum, geology, environment is suffering from the lack of labor and Australian government has special treatment policy aimed at salary, the local workforce isn’t keen on these careers.
