Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – March 17, 2025 – HCMUT and Marvell Technology, Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) marking a strategic collaboration to advance semiconductor education and research. This partnership will drive the development of industry-leading training courses and provide students with valuable resources to support their academic and professional growth.

Advancing semiconductor education at HCMUT
As Vietnam accelerates its position in the global semiconductor landscape, this collaboration aligns with the government’s goal of making Ho Chi Minh City a key semiconductor manufacturing hub. According to Resolution No. 98/NQ-CP issued by the Government of Vietnam, HCMC is designated as a high-tech and innovation center, focusing on semiconductor production and talent development.
The Marvell-HCMUT partnership directly contributes to this vision by equipping students with specialized expertise in high-speed semiconductor chip design, testing, and system integration.

Key Areas of Cooperation
- Industry-Relevant Training: Marvell and HCMUT will co-develop specialized courses, such as Advanced Communications for AI Infrastructure, incorporating both theoretical instruction and hands-on lab work. Faculty members will receive training from Marvell experts to ensure course quality.
- Resource Sponsorship: Marvell will sponsor training materials, devices, tools, and human resources to ensure the effective development of the training courses.
- Scholarships and Internships: The collaboration will explore opportunities for providing scholarships, internships, and employment placements for HCMUT students, helping them build sustainable careers in the semiconductor industry.
- Career Development: Marvell will assist HCMUT in various career development activities, offering tailored sessions to to help students make informed career decisions.
- Joint Research and Development: The MOU also includes plans for joint research and development programs aimed at technological innovation

New Semiconductor Lab at HCMUT
A new semiconductor lab will be established at HCMUT’s Linh Trung – Thu Duc Campus, providing students with direct access to cutting-edge technologies. The facility is expected to be operational by September 2025, strengthening HCMUT’s role as a leading institution for semiconductor training.
