ABET is a prestigious American institution, specializing in quality control for curriculums of Engineering, Technology, Applied Sciences and Computing. ABET stands for Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. It proves international standards.

The council of ABET rates based on the standard of the highest standard of America. In the area of South-east Asia, apart from Vietnam, there are also Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore based universities achieve this accredition

HOW HCMUT ACHIEVED ABET ACCREDITATION

This past September, HCMUT announced the results of quality control for ABET. Accordingly, 2 majors Computer sciences and Computer engineering is up to the accreditation from Sep 2014 to Sep 2020.

HCMUT also achieve the highest level of approval – 6 years (level 1: every 2 years, level 2: paperwork every two years, level 3: 6 years). The school also passed the tests of CAS and EAC.

There are 8 mutual standards: students, academic goals, output standard, faculty, facilities, the support of the system to the program.

Up to the published day of this article, HCMUT is the first and only Vietnamese department to achieve this accreditation.
