HO CHI MINH CITY UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY HAS TWO MORE TRANSFER PROGRAMS WITH JAPAN

This program is a Japanese Enhancement Program in Computer Science and Computer Engineering cooperating with The University of Technology Nagaoka (Japan).

The leaders of the two schools at a ceremony of the co-operated agreement.

The ceremony took place on 12th October 2018 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) with the participation of leaders from both sides: Prof.Nobuhiko Azuma, a President of The University of Technology Nagaoka (NUT), Assoc.Prof.Dr. Mai Thanh Phong – Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), together with relevant deans of departments.

 The signing of this agreement mark a milestone in cooperation between two universities. On the one hand, expanding multidisciplinary cooperation, on the other hand promoting intensive cooperation in each field. At the same time, it is also an important milestone for the Office for International Study Programs (OISP) – The department managing Japanese Enhancement Program in HCMUT – thereby promoting the high quality of training human resources for Japan and Vietnam.

 Since 2006, the Japanese Enhancement Program has been implemented in the first time for Electrical – Electronics Engineering. Students studying at HCMUT for the first 2.5 years under the regular program parallel learning Japanese language and culture; then students must participate in the exam with NUT professors if they want to go to Japan for learning for the last 2 years. Degree engineer issued by NUT. The number of graduates of this program so far has been reached nearly 70.

 In 2017, recognizing the stable development of the program and the necessity to expand into other training areas, NUT, OISP-HCMUT and the Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering (HCMUT) continued discussing and expanding this field such as Computer Science and Computer Engineering disciplines.

 It is expected that the Japanese Enhancement Program in Computer Science and Computer Engineering will officially enroll for students from 2019, with a total of 20 students.

The University of Technology Nagaoka was founded in 1976, located in Nagaoka City, Niigata Province, Japan. The school ranks secondth among Japan’s leading Technical University and 7/435 in Japan (Times Higher Education 2017). NUT currently has about 1300 students, 1000 Doctors, Masters and 200 lecturers, researching.
