BACH KHOA DELEGATES ATTENDED SEMINAR OF VIETNAMESE HUMAN RESOURCES IN JAPAN
The seminar “Attracting Vietnamese top talent” was organized by Japan Create on November 13 in Tokyo and November 15 in Osaka with the participation of many Japanese corporates paying attention to recruiting abroad top talent.

The seminar’s highlights laid on two Vietnamese – Japanese programs of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) – Bach Khoa which focused on training, supporting students desiring to work in Japan after graduation: Vietnam – Japan Program for Employment Ability Development (VIJAPED) and Vietnam – Japan Engineer Program (VJEP) with the leader of these programs is Dr. Dang Dang Tung.
Dr. Dang Dang Tung, leader of the program also the Director of Office for International Study Programs (OISP), started the seminar with his speech, the following were sharings from graduated student representatives who are currently living and working in Japan and from corporate representatives.
The seminar answered queries from participants and shared the newest information about finding and recruiting top talent in the engineering sector.
This year was the fourth time this seminar has been held. The VIJAPED program was established based on contracts of collaboration among HCMUT Bach Khoa, Japan Create (headquarter in Osaka) and Tamsui Vietnam Company Limited. The program operates on the basis of training and career orientation in Japan for fresh graduates of HCMUT Bach Khoa, one of the leading engineering universities.
With a professional, methodical and continually expanded target students plan, the program has contributed to supporting more and more graduates to work in Japan as highly qualified engineers.
At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Dang Dang Tung gave some focused speech about the issue “Education quality and current student quality of HCMUT”. In his speech, Dr. Tung emphasized the strength, background and development progress of the program to express his confidence about current student quality in HCMUT Bach Khoa. “After carrying out a survey on students’ working preferences and assessment on recruiting top talent demand of Japanese enterprises, we have built up a high-quality education program based a methodical training progress. This is really a program for excellent, passionate and strong-willed students who desire to work in Japan.” Moreover, Dr. Tung also emphasized on ceaselessly effort to improve, upgrade quality to make the program grow better.
Also in the seminar, Mr. Kuroda Saturo, Japanese-side management representatives, gave his speech on external factors affecting recruiting abroad engineering top talents.
In part 2 of the seminar, participants also joined in the discussion “Importance, inevitability of highly qualified human resources in Japanese enterprises”. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Adachi Shinya – Chief Executive Officer, representatives from Japan Create, together with Mr. Kawai Satoshi, Deputy Managing Director of Wado Giken (Sagamihara, Kanagawa), Mr. Mitsuo Motai, Human Resources Recruiter of Nidec Tosok (Zama, Kanagawa), Mr. Kuroda, Dr. Dang Dang Tung. The related parties went from background, meaning, and problems related to the recruitment process to making use of international excellent human resources.
Furthermore, HCMUT Bach Khoa student representatives who are currently working in Wado Giken, Nidec Tosok also shared their experience in the seminar.
– “We have the opportunities to do what we are capable of and passionate about and take advantage of what we learned to apply in both work and life.”
– “We are educated about not only Japanese but also business culture, social behavior regulations so that the barrier to adapt to the new environment decreased.”
They also left some advice for the next generation: “To live and work in Japan, Japanese is one of the most important factors. Other factors such as a strong desire to learn, a ceaseless effort to study techniques to be able to create products for the company.”
In part 3 of the seminar, representatives from the External Relations Department of Japan Create voiced their opinions about “Abroad human resources recruitment and Job searching for abroad workers supporting services” including the recruitment process for abroad human resources, current status, achievements, and future development direction.
On this occasion, Dr. Dang Dang Tung also paid a visit to Daifuku Company in Shiga, the leading manufacturer of automatic storage in Japan.
