The 19th SEATUC Symposium at HCMUT highlights global collaboration in science, technology, and sustainability.
The 19th Southeast Asian Technical Universities Consortium (SEATUC) Symposium took place on March 5-6, 2025, at HCMUT. This marks the second time HCMUT has hosted the event, following its first in 2017. The symposium gathered over 130 researchers, faculty, and students from eight universities across Southeast Asia to discuss key topics in science and technology.
The event focused on the theme “Innovation for a Green and Sustainable Future,” addressing global challenges such as sustainability, net-zero innovation, and sustainable development policies. Over 90 research papers and posters were presented across 11 fields, including mechanical engineering, computer science, and environmental sciences. Participants exchanged ideas, with students showcasing their research in technical, poster, and work-in-progress sessions.
HCMUT’s role in hosting the symposium highlights its growing influence in international science and technology networks. As part of the SEATUC consortium, HCMUT continues to strengthen ties with leading universities, promoting collaboration in research and innovation. During the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Tran Vu, Vice Rector of HCMUT, emphasized the importance of global cooperation in tackling sustainability challenges and advancing scientific progress.
The symposium also provided a platform for students to engage with faculty members, receive feedback on their research, and network with peers from other countries. This exchange fosters the development of the next generation of scientists and innovators in Southeast Asia.
The success of the 19th SEATUC symposium sets the stage for future events, with the 20th SEATUC Symposium to be hosted by Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. HCMUT’s leadership in this event continues to reinforce its commitment to fostering global scientific collaboration and driving innovation for a sustainable future.
The event ended with memorable and insightful speeches.
