HCERES Accreditation is officially granted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa)

Afternoon of 17 October, in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa), together with Hanoi University of Science & Technology, Da Nang University and NUCE, are granted the HCERES Accreditation at university level, being qualified following European standards for higher education standards.

The Accreditation achieved at the highest level with the duration of 5 years (from June 2017 to June 2022) is a deserved recognition for endless efforts of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University) over the years, good reference for commitment of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) to training quality and transparency to society and related sides, which encourages the continuous quality assurance and improvement.

That Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) achieved the recognition from the The High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES, Europe) affirms the quality of training, researching and services of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa); helps increase career and higher education opportunities for learners at our university at other developing & developed countries. This also provokes sustainable cooperation with partners locally and internationally.

At the occurrence, Mr. Bui Van Ga, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, shared that we always encourage universities conduct assessment following regional and international standard set. These are the first 4 universities of Vietnam to be recognized internationally. It affirms the reputation of the four universities not only in the nation but also in the world, which increase opportunities in cooperation with outbound higher education, attracting international students to Vietnam, and aiming to internationalize training programs in all the countries.

At the event, Mr. Michel Cosnard – President of HCERES also express the process of organizing assessment with the four universities from October 2016, in which he emphasized the importance of self-assessment from each university. It is the honesty, professionality of the self-assessment report that decisively affect the decision to carry out the official assessment from the accreditation organization as well as granting the accreditation.

HCERES is an independent organization that organize assessment and accreditation for higher education institutions, research organizations and training programs. HCERES is an official member of European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education(ENQA) and The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG) in the European Higher Education Area.

The standard set of HCERES used in assessing higher education institution and research organization comprises 6 areas: strategy and management (mission, development strategy, organizing of strategy execution, communication); training and scientific researching(training & researching policy, forms of training to match with learners’ demand); process of training and career orientation (study environment and training management); external relations; managing and directing (Systems of financing, properties, human resources, and information); quality and morality (policy of quality and morality assurance in training and researching).
