HCMUT STUDENTS ACHIEVE ENCOURAGING PRIZE OF NATIONAL OLYMPIC VIII IN CHEMISTRY

     On 9/4, at the closing ceremony of National Olympic VIII in Chemistry which took place at Can Tho University, 2 articulation program students Dinh Vinh Hien and Tran Quy Don achieved 2 encouraging prizes. There were over 30 teams separated into 3 groups coming from all over the country.

This competition was organized by Can Tho University and Vietnam Chemical Society. There were 3 groups A,B and C for students with professional major in researching, engineering and non-professional students. Individuals and teams that got the highest results in theoretical and experimental competitions would be awarded prizes.

In the competition, two first year students Vinh Hien and Quy Don with majors in Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Engineering respectively won 2 encouraging prizes.

According to Vinh Hien about his achievements, his lecturers from Chemical Engineering Department and HCMUT helped him and 3 of his friends a lot in their preparation and encouraged them during the competition. There were much knowledge that they did not learn in class, so they had to find out from theory to experiment. Luckily successfully won the encouraging prize, they felt very happy. Attending in a national competition was great opportunity to gain more knowledge, learn more new things and make them feel less pressure when entering the examination room.

Vinh Hien also expressed his pride when talking about his study at HCMUT. He did not only achieve knowledge but also studied in a very international, dynamic, creative, flexible and friendly environment. Studying in HCMUT helped him improve his English skill and Chemical knowledge that would help him well prepare for his study abroad trip at The University of Adelaide in 2015.
