HCMUT’s Year in review 2016
The CTI evaluated & accredited the PFIEV in the period 2016 – 2022.
Let’s have a flashback in the year 2016 with 10 significant events at the HCMUT.
1. Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI) evaluated and accredited the Programme de Formation d’Ingéunieurs d’Excellence au Viet Nam – PFIEV in the period of 2016 – 2022.
Opposite to the rising trend of the three universities mentioned, the ranks of Hue University and Can Tho University were slightly dropped. More specifically, Hue University had dropped from 301-350 to 352-400; and Can Tho University had dropped from 251-300 to 301-500
2. The following study programs are accredited by AUN – QA (ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance): Mechatronics Engineering (Faculty of Applied Sciences), Electrical – Electronics Engineering Advanced Program, Electrical – Electronic Engineering (Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering), Environmental Engineering (Faculty of Environmental and Natural Resources), and Industrial Systems Engineering (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering).

3. HCMUT’s Labor Union celebrated 40 years of foundation (1976 – 2016)
The HCMUT Labor Union’s 40th anniversary of foundation (1976 – 2016)
4. There were 14 educators honorably entitled Professor, Associate Professor by the State Professor Title Council in 2016; 02 educators were awarded the Labour Order, First class and Third class.
The Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc (right) awarded the Labour Order, First class to the People’s Teacher. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Tuoi – the former Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam, the former principle of the HCMUT.
HCMUT congratulated the 02 Professors & 12 Associate Professors entitled in 2016.
5. The 60th Anniversary of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (1956 – 2016)

6. The 40th Anniversary of HCMUT Youth Union Foundation (1976 – 2016)
The traditional meeting of cadres from generations to generations.
7. The HCMUT has 03 more units that achieved ISO 9001:2008 Certificate, including the Equipment & Facilities Management Office, the External Relations Office and the R&D and Project Management Office. This event also raised the total number of units achieving ISO 9001:2008 Certificate to 12 units.
8. Discussion for the projected development strategy of the University in the period from 2016 to 2020 and oriented to 2030.
The University Board of Directors took in ideas & points of view for the development strategy of the University in the period of 2016 – 2020 and oriented to 2030.
9. HCMUT cooperated with the Bosch Vietnam to inaugurate the eScooter Sharing System.
The eScooter Sharing System was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City.to 2030.
10. The HCMUT cooperated with Endress+Hauser to inaugurate the Endress+Hauser Training Center.
The delegates were cutting the ribbons to establish the Endress+Hauser Training Center..
