The Top 500 QS Asia University Rankings 2019 has called Vietnam National University (VNU-HCM) at 144th place.

The leading representative of Vietnam is Vietnam National University-Ha Noi (VNU-HN), ranked 124th.

Following Vietnam National, University-Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi University of Science and  Technology (HUST), located in the group 261-270.

2018 is the first year that Vietnamese universities are among the top 1,000 universities in the world, according to QS World rankings: VNU-HCM in group 701-750, and VNU-HN belongs to group 801-1000.

Compared to 2018, QS Asia University Rankings 2019 adds the “International research network” criterion, bringing the total number of criteria to 11. This index uses data provided by Scopus to measure the level of International research cooperation in public for each organization is assessed and weighted at 10%.

In addition, there are two criteria that have been reduced in weight, namely “The ratio of lecturers/students” from 15% to 10% and “Number of articles/lecturers” from 10% to 5%.

The other indicators still remain the same.

The set of QS criteria is operated with iron-handed, reunification, and emphasized the importance of scientific research.
