MEETING ABET STANDARDS OPENS MORE CAREER OPPOTURNITIES FOR HCMUT STUDENTS

Many foreign firms show interest in ABET – standardized programs graduates

Nov 4, 2014, HCMUT proudly held the ceremony for achieving ABET standards in 2 majors: Computer Science and Computer Technology

In the ceremony, presented were Associate Professor Bui Anh Tuan, Associate Professor Phan Thanh Binh – Rector of HCMUT, Head of Department of Computer Science and Technology, Associate Professor Thoai Nam, Head of American Embassy in HCMC – Mrs. Rena Bitter, altogether with leaders and representatives from universities, companies, press and students of HCMUT.

 

Accordingly, HCMUT is the first unit in Vietnam to achieve this certification, after a long period of striving.

With an ABET standardized programs, learners would receive the best academic environment, fulfill demands of real world’s jobs, established by professional units. Students are more likely to get job offers from American companies.

ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) is an organization specializes on accrediting academic quality, charted in 1932 by Jobs association of America. It is approved by Council for Higher Education Accreditation, including Engineering Accreditation Commission, Computing Commission, Technology Accreditation Commission and Applied Science Accreditation Commission
