A good shot when we first arrived at the premises.

OISP field trips, which usually take place throughout the year, are annual activties organizing by the Office for International Study Programs (OISP) for freshmen. Main purpose of the field trip is to provide students with practical experiences by visiting the premises of corporations/ companies operating in the field students are majoring in.

This year field trip was not an exception. The trip took place on Aug 18th, 2017 with Bach Khoa 2017 intake from Transportation & Automotive Engineering major, English Program & Articulation program. Our destination for this year was no other than SAMCO AN LAC Automotive Mechanics Factory & Premises in Củ Chi.

Before stepping in the factory to automotive production chains, labor safety regulations were introduced to us by Mr. Lê Vũ Hùng – SAMCO Head of Training, following which was very detailed introduction about parts of the factory we will visit with practical knowledge students can learn, and very warm welcome from the SAMCO Instruction Team.

Safety first, following by a very warm welcome from the SAMCO Instruction Team.
Students were then directed to the factory in real order of producing a car: starting from how a chassis is formed, where each metal bar is made, then how the plastic shell of the car is installed, and the finishing stages such as surface painting, seat assembly, together with the final touches of quality check and evaluation of finished products.
Here goes some first steps into the factory.
“Detailing Room” – where produces small parts of the vehicles such as cavity holes, screws.
The students were all very excited and constantly sent questions to the instructor.
Observing the road for trial run of finished products.
Back to main office with Q&A section. One of the highlights was “With higher cost of production & distribution and refueling stations are not widespread, CNG vehicles are likely harder to sell than conventional gasoline vehicles. Why SAMCO focus to invest and produce this type of vehicle?”, caught the attention of our partner. Job & Trainee Opportunities in SAMCO and other partners is also in discussion.
Q&A section with Mr. Hùng – SAMCO Head of Training.
Mr. Khai – representatives of our university with his thanks to SAMCO.
The trip ended with souvenir & gift exchanged between Bach Khoa & SAMCO. Hopefully this year trip fulfilled its goal & provided practical knowledge & experiences for the students.

Stay tuned for more!
