THREE OISP STUDENTS MAKE THEIR DREAMS OF WORKING IN JAPAN COME TRUE

Ngo Dam Trung – One of three HCMUT interns

Recently, Japan is one of the most attractive working centers of many undergraduate students who dream of working in an international environment with good policy for labors and high salary. However, living expenses in Japan are pretty expensive, especially for Vietnamese students. Fortunately, Japanese Governments consistently create several opportunities for international interns.

Toshiba was founded in 1939, Tokyo, Japan, being the high-tech multinational corporation. According to Interbrand’s survey, Toshiba is ranked number nine in the best brand of the globe. During the process of forming and development, Toshiba owns 2483 patents in the USA and being ranked the number five in the world about quantity. Toshiba is estimated as having a desirable working environment for students who are passionately interested in technology.

Lately, there have been three students studying electrical and electronics engineering (Advanced program) of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology having the honor of being employees at Japanese Toshiba corporation due to their excellence academic performance. They are Ngo Dam Trung, Nguyen Van Hoa Vu, Le Trung. Generally, these students obtain high results in studying (GPA 3.2 out of 4.0) and are able to communicate well in English. The noticeable thing is that students who barely know Japanese can still apply for the opportunity.

Students are not only paid high salary (750USD/month) but also supported with VISA fees, flight tickets, transportation, living expenses and travelling. According to an intern, the cost of living in Japan is around 600-700USD/month, so each intern may save budget enough for travelling as well as shopping.

With an internship like this, students not only can experience working in an international environment but they are also given a big chance to learn about Japanese. And obviously, this would be a great advantage for their future CV.

Let’s hope these HCMUT “citizens” will have interesting internships!
