HCMUT Welcoming ICTentr Project Mission

The mission of the ICTentr Project paid a visit to HCMUT in three days, from 12 to 14 September 2016. ICTentr is the Project Supporting Entrepreneurial Development in the Field of IT in Vietnamese Higher Education Institutions.

ICTentr project focuses on supporting Vietnam to achieve their national goals by modernizing higher education systems and enhancing skills in ICT through capacity development.

 

The general objective of the project is to prepare students studying in the field of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for entrepreneurial mindsets, soft skills, together with professional attitude when they graduate from the university and enter their career path

 

The project is executing under the coordination of the University of Turku (UTU), Finland, the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Ireland, the University of Léon (ULE), Spain, the Hanoi University of Science & Technology (HUST), the University of Da Nang (UD) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam

 

The project is financed through EU funding under the Erasmus+ Programme for the action Capacity-Building Higher Education (CBHE).

After the visiting & working sessions at the University of Léon, Spain, in the middle of April 2016, the University Business Collaboration Interface had planned visits to the three cooperative higher education institutions in Vietnam from 6 to 14 September.

The UBC Interface coming to HCMUT on 12 September were greeted by Dr. Vu The Dung, Vice Rector of the HCMUT, Director of Office for International Study Programs (OISP), together with Dr. Nguyen Hua Phung, Mr. Ta Hung Anh, Mr. Huynh Minh Nhut in the HCMUT Project Team.

Besides coming to visit the University, the mission of the project also came for working more deeply in training and revising the action plans of HCMUT for ICT students.

Dr. Kirsi Peura from University of Turku, Spain is presenting at the Board Meeting on 13 September morning.

More specifically,on the first day of the visit, 12 September, the project mission went through the plan report of HCMUT together with discussion on further implementation. There was also a teacher training session for HCMUT lecturers and teaching staff on Entrepreneurship. The teacher training session aimed to provides the attendants entrepreneurial perspectives that can be taken into and combined with specialised teaching. The training program was provided by the University of Turku, Finland and the Project Manager Vesa Hautala.

The next coming day, 13 September, the virtual Board of Meeting occurred at the DLC Room (Digital Learning Center) with distant participants from the project teams of UD and HUST. There were also introduction about & visits to HCMUT Office for International Study Programs (OISP), HCMUT Technology Business Incubator, faculties and schools in the afternoon.

Finally, the project mission came to the planning of the entrepreneurship pilot course for HCMUT students on the morning of 14 September.

The project is planned to implement in three years which help improving the quality of teaching and learning in the field of ICT for HEIs in Vietnam through enhancing entrepreneurial relationships and entrepreneurship activities.
