This morning, September 19th, 2020, at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, VNU-HCM Key-lab for Internal Combustion Engine and the unmanned aircraft AgriDrone Vietnam company signed a cooperation agreement on the establishment of Drone Academy which specializes in training using drones and issuing certificates for drone operation. This is the first Drone Training academy to be established in Vietnam.
After the signing, it is expected that at the beginning of October 2020, the two parties will run training courses, research on applications of drone and issue Unmanned Aircraft Operator Certificates applying the international standards of DJI and UTC; research and application of unmanned aircraft for civil purposes; manufacturing drones, as well as providing high-quality human resources for drone solutions in Vietnam.
Depending on the extent of application, there are certain training courses such as mapping and surveys, aerial photography, community safety, industrial inspection, LV1 operation training, agricultural aircraft operation, etc. with tuition fees ranging from 4 to 7 million VND (with endowment per student).
Drones (UAVs – Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) are unmanned aircraft with many different sizes, shapes, and functions. Nowadays, in order to meet the needs of industrialization and modernization of the society, drones become widely available in all fields of life and are applied in many areas such as agriculture (spraying aircraft), industry, wind power, solar energy, etc.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Khanh Hieu shared that today, people make use of flying equipment in life a lot. The development of unmanned aircraft has made a huge step, the demand for drone pilots is therefore increasing. Hence, the establishment of the drone training academy at the HCMUT – Bach Khoa has promptly meet social needs.
