Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) achieved AUN-QA Accreditation at University level
AUN Assessment Mission is visiting university’s facilities.
On 10 November 2017, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) – Vietnam National University) received Assessment Report from the AUN. Following that, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) has met all the requirements of the Quality Standards from AUN-QA for educational institutions.
With this result, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) – Vietnam National University (officially called Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) is the first university in Vietnam and the third university in ASEAN region that is qualified for the mentioned European standards.
Specifically, the activities of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa), including framing & screening study programs, managing scientific research and cooperation with partners in scientific research, connecting and serving the society, are evaluated as “qualified better than expected”.
That Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) attained 2 prestigious accreditation HCERES (of Europe) and AUN-QA (of ASEAN) in 2017 shows the commitments and transparency of Bach Khoa in quality and effortless improving all aspects in training, scientific researching and serving the society.
The AUN-QA Accreditation will support and provoke quality of the University in all aspects, increasing exchanging students and lecturers with universities in the region, preparing for and developing global citizen generation.

1. AUN-QA Standards for University level includes 25 standards, 111 criteria, which are categorized into 4 groups:
- Quality Assurance in strategy
- Quality Assurance in system
- Quality Assurance in operating functions (training, scientific researching, serving the society)
- Results
2. Requirements for achieving AUN-QA Accreditation: all of the standards must be qualified from 4 points above (of 7-point scale). The 7-point scale is defined as follows:

3. The AUN Assessment Mission includes the Secretariat of 3 members & 6 specialists from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand.
4. The process of AUN-QA Assessment at University level is composed of 4 stages:
- Preparation
- Self-Assessment & Quality Improvement
- AUN-QA Assessment
- Post-Assessment
Following that, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) had studied the AUN-QA standards and conduct self-assessment as well as quality enhancement from June 2016 to June 2017.
From 3rd to 9th of September 2017, AUN-QA Mission came for inspection and carried out the official assessment at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Bach khoa) (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology).
Based on the self-assessment report from the University, the observation and direct interview with more than 250 representatives from employers, alumni, students, university leaders and staff, the AUN-QA Mission gave comments and evaluated rate of qualifying the requirements of the AUN-QA standard set.
Following the comments and revision from related and relevant sides, the University will execute the assurance and continuous enhancement plans on quality.
