The Scientific Research of HCMUT Bach Khoa – VNU HCMC takes place twice a year. It is the occasion for researchers, scientists, managers domestically and internationally to discuss, exchange information and present scientific research and experiences in different fields, especially those concerned, encouraged by government and society recently such as smart cities, smart technology, internet of things, digitalization, smart society.

The topic of the 16th conference focuses on 2 main Vietnamese government’s policies:
– Resolution 950/QĐ-TTg of Prime Minister about Project in developing Vietnam smart and sustainable city in 2018-2025 and aim for 2030.
– Cooperation between university and corporates to meet the need for technology, science application to solve problems in developing economics, society.

The conference includes 01 university-level meeting, and a series of seminars organized in 12 faculties and main laboratories, with an exhibition of university scientific, technological achievements and products from partners. This conference lasted 2 months, from October 1st, 2019, including a meeting on October 15 with a theme of “Green and Smart Society”. In the framework of this event, HCMUT Bach Khoa also signed a collaboration contract with Dong Thap province People Committee on the research field and sharing science, technology potentials, engineering, technology consulting.

Opening ceremony: 8 a.m Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at A5 Hall Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (268 Ly Thuong Kiet, Ward 14, District 10, HCMC).

Participant list: The conference honorably welcomed speakers who are leading experts in science, technology. The newest research about smart city, smart agriculture were presented by main speakers: Assoc. Prof, Dr. Thoai Nam from Faculty of Computer Science and Computer Engineering, Prof. Ikuo Sugiyama from Kobe Institute of Computing (Japan), Dr. Pham S., Vice President of Lam Dong Province People Committee. The discussion about Close cooperation between universities and corporates for sustainable development was hosted by Rector, Assoc. Prof, Dr. Mai Thanh Phong and other speakers including representatives from the Department of Science, Technology, local authorities (collaboration relationship for sustainable development) and domestic and foreign enterprises, especially Technology Development Vintech JSC, Dien Quang Lightbulb JSC, Industrial, Agricultural Mechanics Bui Van Ngo Ltd, etc. Also, the conference also had privileges to facilitate representatives from Ministry, Institutions, universities and well-known local enterprises.

Number from the conference: over 700 researches were sent to the conference and 689 scientific articles were published in Conference Book from many researchers, scholars of universities, research institutes domestically and internationally. The conference was divided into 73 divisions, including 52 international divisions.
