On the morning of June 21, 2020, HCMUT – Bach Khoa welcomed thousands of students and parents from Ho Chi Minh City, other provinces, and cities to the Admission and Career Consultancy Day 2020. This is an event organized by HCMUT – Bach Khoa and Tuoi Tre Newspaper which is highly anticipated by many students every year, in order to update a handful of useful information when they are browsing on universities and majors.
Attending the opening ceremony, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc – Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Truong Anh Dung – General Director of General Department of Vocational Education, Mr. Duong Anh Duc – Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Mr. Le Xuan Trung – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong – Principle of HCMUT – Bach Khoa, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thien Phuc – Vice Principal of HCMUT – Bach Khoa, the department of consultancy and the University leaders’ representatives.
The festival attracted more than 200 counseling booths of universities, colleges, technical schools, vocational colleges, study abroad counseling centers, etc. At the festival, the Ministry of Education and Training informed attendees about the national exam in 2020; Universities in the country will provide information about admission plans in 2020 as well as career, health, and psychological counseling, etc.
During the festival, students have the opportunity to experience the creative and research environment of the University. At the same time, parents and students can update new, specific and comprehensive admission information to have a better understanding of teaching methods and training programs. A new feature in the application file for this year’s contest is that candidates can only register for a whole combined exam of Natural Science or Social Sciences. Therefore, they cannot register to select each of the component subjects for the combined exam. In addition, candidates may not put an X in each subject, because this is for high school graduates.
Admission and Career Orientation Day is an opportunity for parents and students to meet directly representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Board of Directors, Head of the training departments in the University for advice on new features of the national exam this year as well as admission to universities and colleges in 2020. This is an opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to take career advice, directly observe and learn about teaching and research activities, learning environment, facilities, quality of service, etc. of the participating universities.
