Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Kim Phung is one of Asia’s top three agricultural scientists, as chosen by the Asian Scientist magazine in 2017. She won the ASEAN-US Science Prize in 2016 and has been voted as one of the top 100 scientists in Asia by the famous Asian Scientist magazine.

In particular, her research focusing on generating biofuels from agricultural waste such as oil from rubber seed, coffee beans or fruits. Recycled energy and sustainable agricultural development are being considered topics worldwide. In a developing country like Vietnam, both economic development and environmental control are always a challenge.
As a researcher of applied science, Dr. Le Thi Kim Phung is looking for new solutions to replace the traditional ways to solve environmental problems and create more value for Vietnam’s agriculture. With almost 20 years of research, Dr.Phung pursues solutions for environmental issues and sustainable development of Vietnam’s agriculture.
