HCMUT WON THE FIRST PRIZE IN 2019 SPORT FESTIVAL FOR STUDENTS

HCMUT team had won the first prize for men in basketball, volleyball, badminton and also won the first prize in the whole team.

On 8th May, at the Sports Hall of Viet Nam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, the 12th Student Sports Festival took place in 12 days and attracted nearly 600 athletes competing in six subjects: football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess, xiangqi. Assoc. Vu Hai Quan-Vice President of VNU-HCM and the representatives of VNU-HCM teams are also attended.

At the ceremony, athletes and teams who won high prizes in the competitions were awarded and honored solemnly. In addition, HCMUT team won a series of first prizes in basketball, volleyball, and badminton for men only, chess, xiangqi and also won the first prize in the whole team.

More details, the first women’s volleyball tournament was awarded by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities University.

In badminton, first prize for men/women belong to the athletes of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sciences: Ms. Nguyen Nhu Hao, Ms. Le Thi Tuong Vy, and Mr. Nguyen Cong Nguyen from HCMUT and the others from International University.

In women football, the winner was awarded by Nguyen Thi Kim Ly (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and Nguyen Thi Bach Luu (University of Sciences) with seven goals. K ‘Kong from the University of Sciences was awarded in scorer with five goals. The team of the University of Sciences also won the first prize in football in two categories for men’s and women’s competitions.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Mai – Head of the Organizing Committee, Head of the Student Affairs Department of VNU-HCM said: “Throughout the sports festival, the athletes competed with their high spirit because of their eagle and along with the matches, Ho Chi Minh City’s sports federations has run the matches with an objective and precise spirit, bringing the honest and fair play in the sports festival matches”.
