BACH KHOA INNOVATION 2019 AND STUDENTS’ DEMO EXHIBITIONS

On the morning of October 19th, 2019, Bach Khoa Innovation 2019’s closing ceremony was solemnly organized together with Bach Khoa students’ demo creative invention exhibition. The ceremony took place at Nile hall, Wedding and Convention Center, Riverside Palace, 360D, Ben Van Don, District 4, attracting many students and guests to come.

Bach Khoa Innovation, first held in 2018, is a competition of renovation and creation for Bach Khoa students of OISP particularly and of the university in general. Through a long time of activation and deployment, this year competition has achieved outstanding results. The ceremony was collaboratively organized by Technology Business Incubation Center and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) in the “Innovation, Startup and Entrepreneurship Week (WHISE 2019).” This is also the time to look back the path we’ve gone through and to honour student groups who have innovative, practical technological products.

Prof, Dr. Le Thi Kim Phung – Director of Depart of External Relations, Ph.D Tran Viet Toan – Director of Student Services and Career Centers and Vice Head of Student Activities Office, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Hang – Director of Business Start-up Support Center, Mr. Tran Van Quy – Senior Project Manager at TMA Solutions, Ms. Hoang Ngoc Lan – Director of CBS Vietnam.

The ceremony began with introduction about guests from centers, internal and external offices of HCMUT. Especially, we were honour to welcome Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ky Phung – Vice Director of Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Assoc. Prof, Dr. Le Minh Phuong – Vice Rector of HCMUT.

After that, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ky Phung started his speech acknowledging the achievements and contributions of Bach Khoa Innovation 2019.

The clip about Bach Khoa Innovation 2019 journey is the highlight of the whole ceremony. We all had emotional moments looking back on what we’ve been through the competition.
After that, on behalf of the competition organizers, Assoc. Prof, Dr. Pham Dinh Anh Khoi – Director of Technology Business Incubation Center gave the summary of Bach Khoa Innovation 2019. According to Mr. Khoi, Bach Khoa Innovation 2019 was fully in English, attracting 292 students participating with 79 projects. Most of the projects was relevant to environment, electronics, applications, etc. 5 different levels of awards including 1 first prize (worth 30 millions dong), 2 second prizes (worth 15 millions dong each), 2 third prizes (worth 10 millions dong each) was awarded at the end of the competition. Besides, there were some side prizes to encourage students who were passionate, creative and innovative and passed required rounds.

Representatives from 5 awarded teams were given the stage to present their products again. Following the order from third prize to first prize, Pho, Barley, Happy House, UVI, KingBlue respectively shows their attractiveness.

The closing ceremony and exhibition continued with sharing from corporates who have collaborated with the competition, some of whom are even HCMUT alumni.

This event brought connect opportunities between social organizations, corporates and universities, students, tightened the relationships among Bach Khoa students’ generations to bring value to all of the stakeholders.

At noon the same day, the ceremony ended successfully in the exultation and enthusiasm of all participants with the achievements of Bach Khoa Innovation.
