Until now, because the COVID-19 pandemic is complicated, HCMUT – Bach Khoa students have not been able to go to school. Under the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training, HCMUT has implemented online teaching and learning since March 2020. At this stage, HCMUT – Bach Khoa has supported students with 3G-4G data plans and textbooks delivery service.

3G-4G data plans

To help students have a favorable condition when online learning, university administrators decide to provide a support package of 3 billion VND. Meanwhile, each student receives 50.000 VND for each month until the end of the epidemic, or the end of the semester.

Currently, the university has connected with Vinaphone – a service provider – to order service plans with special offers for HCMUT – Bach Khoa students. When registering with the school for this, each student can use data up to 90 GB high speed for a 30-day cycle and use it in 3 cycles. Those who do not participate will receive 50,000 VND for each month. The University recommends that students use this funding to buy a high-speed 4G connection to best support online learning.  

Besides that, the university will also sponsor scholarships for disadvantaged students with good grades. Scholarship funding is from the school support package and the contribution of businesses and alumni with about 9 billion VND.

Textbooks delivery service

HCMUT – Bach Khoa library has implemented textbooks delivery service for students to ensure the quality of online learning. Through the university’s website, students only need to find textbooks, register and provide the address and phone number. Then, the library will send textbooks to students’ houses. Students will receive and pay for the book in the form of COD (Cash On Delivery). 

Mr. Tran Quang – Director of the University Library said: “The library has implemented this service since March 24, 2020, and has received the support of thousands of students. Up to now, the library has delivered over 2,000 textbooks and still received a lot of online orders from HCMUT – Bach Khoa students.”
