QS Ranking Asia: Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh in Top 150

The QS University Ranking Asia has just released the top 350 Universities in Asia 2016.
Following the rankings, on top of the list this year is National University of Singapore (NUS). The University of Hong Kong ranks the second and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) ranks the third.
Also in this list, Vietnam has 5 universities including: Vietnam National University – Hanoi stands the 139th, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh stands the 147th, Can Tho University stands in the group of 251th – 300th, Hue University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology stand in the group of 301th-300th.

In 2015, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh (VNU-HCM) ranked the 201st, this year, VNU-HCM jumped 54 ranks and stands in the top 150 leading universities in Asia.
The QS University Rankings Asia is based on 10 indicators. VNU-HCM has 2 highly-ranked indicators are Academic Reputation (70.3) and Employer Reputation (35.9). The two indicators mentioned take up 40% in the ranking overall score.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is directly under the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh. HCMUT, a state-owned and comprehensive university, has been recognized as the leading center of academy, scientific researching and technology transferring in Vietnam and is the first Vietnamese university to achieve ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology certification, USA) in two majors: Computer Science and Computer Engineering. We also achieved AUN – QA (Quality Assurance in ASEAN Universities Network Certification) in 9 majors: Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial System Engineering, Automatic Control Engineering and Electrical-Electronic Engineering.
