VNU-HCM in Top 301-500 universities in Graduate Employability Rankings 2020
According to the result from QS (England), VNU-HCM is the only Vietnamese representative in Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 (QS GER 2020).
VNU-HCM was ranked in Top 301-500 in over 2100 leading universities from 132 nations
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh – Director of Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment at VNU – HCM said that in QS GER 2020, VNU-HCM was in Top 301-500 in over 2100 leading universities from 132 countries. Out of 2100 universities, 750 universities were eligible for assessment, 680 universities were ranked and 501 were praised.
QS GER was first launched in 2015 with a view to providing more detailed information upon the relationship among universities, corporations and students.
This rankings made assessment upon quality and the employability of graduates based on 5 criteria: recruiters’ reputation (30%), graduate quality (25%), cooperation with enterprises (25%), corporations and students connecting activities (10%) and employed graduates ratio (10%).
QS GER assesss the ability to produce highly employable graduates of universities
Although many leading universities worldwide are producing high-achieving graduates every year, employers frequently express concerns that academic institutions aren’t doing enough to prepare their students for the world of work. “Soft skills” are the keyword to be mentioned the most when talking about necessary skills of employees, especially technical and technological sector. In this setting, QS GER is established to measure, assess the level of necessary skills preparation for future career from universities’ side.
Before, VNU-HCM had been into Top 701-750 QS World 2020, Top 144 QS Asia 2019 and Top 1001+ THE 2020.
