Although the 192nd semester at HCMUT – Bach Khoa has been happening for nearly a month with e-learning, not all students have built their effective online learning style.

Within more than two weeks, the whole HCMUT – Bach Khoa students will return to school. From here to there, online learning is still the main method. Check out these following tips to obtain motivation and a good habit of self-learning at home.

1. Neat clothes

Put on a polite and neat outfit just like when you go to school. It will help you feel more like you are going to class and going to school. Otherwise, you will find yourself in a free mood, relaxing on the couch or the soft mattress in front of you.

2. Create a learning space like in school

Do you have a favorite place to study at school? So why not try to bring that environment back to your home to help you focus. A pretty little corner of books, colorful design of your schedule, blasting a piece of baroque music will help your brain focus and memorize your knowledge longer.

3. Building good study habits

This time is also suitable for you to build good habits: Get up early, prepare breakfast, exercise, drink coffee or tea, help mom sweep the house, etc. These things are simple yet will mentally prepare for your studying.

4. Set daily goals 

No need to overthink it! You just need to set goals for every day and try hard to achieve them. After that, you will feel really satisfied and have motivation for the next days.

5. Eliminate distractions

You should inform your family and relatives of your schedule to avoid being disturbed during your self-learning time. Turning off the phone ring and keeping it out of reach during your study time is another way to help you concentrate on the lesson.

According to research, if you take a break of five minutes after a subject to relax the brain, then you will learn the lesson faster. You can do some simple exercises, step out of the study area, breathe deeply, water the plants, etc. to regain focus.

7. Learn new skills

This is also an opportunity for you to discover new skills, there are many online courses such as drawing, piano, photography, foreign languages, design, etc. Besides the stressful lessons, these “extra” sessions will help you restore balance and raise more interest in learning.

Having good health is essential. Therefore, you need to pay attention to proper nutrition. Eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables with an adequate amount and on time, not only provides sufficient energy for learning but also helps to strengthen your immune system during the pandemic.
