OWNERS OF 5 TICKETS TO THAILAND STUDY TOUR
OISP Community Day & Presentation Contest 2019 has found the owners of 5 tickets to Thailand Study Tour. This was also the top 5 teams of the contest.
Last Sunday, December 8th, at B6 Ground, Campus 1, HCMUT Bach Khoa took place the Finale Round of OISP Community Day & Presentation Contest 2019.
Top 5 teams were SK17 with “Bag Dream” project, SK28 with “Happy Sun” project, SK07 with “EngKids” project, SK06 with “ChemBKU” project, SK15 with “New wine in Old bottles” project with the following awards:
– 1 first prize: SK17
– 2 second prize: SK28, SK15
– 2 third prize: SK06, SK07

Moreover, there are also other awards:
– “Best designed slides”: SK07, SK26, SK15
– “Most impressive booth”: SK27, SK28, SK15
– “Most viewed video”: SK27, SK18, SK17

For over 3 months, The Final Round officially ended the Pre-University semester with many practical and helpful activities such as soft skills, social skills, company tours, English learning activities, OISP Camp, etc.
From 36 teams of 34 Soft Skills classes, the organizer picked out 9 teams to advance into the final round with interesting and meaningful projects. Apart from presentation, debating skills, this year, all teams show the fluent English skills. This is a good sign showing that the number of students good at English is increasing.
SK17 with “Bag Dream” project – Bag made of recycled cattle-feed package
This year, the community project aimed at practical products made from recycled materials such as solar-energy bulbs, chairs made of plastic bottles, bags made of recycled cattle-feed package, etc. At the same time, those projects also communicated the message of using eco-friendly products such as grass straws, luffa, etc.

Especially, there were also projects aimed at under-privileged children, elderly in HCMC and adjacent areas. The students had taken practical actions to help children in Dak Choong mountainous area by giving away calculators, hats, raincoats.
Moreover, a student group who is capable of and passionate about teaching English opened a free class for children in temples in Thu Duc. The English class is still running and receiving positive feedback from children and the temple.
At the end of the competition, 5 winning teams received a study tour in Thailand and exchange in Mahidol University of Thailand.
