As of 2015, HCMUT have articulated with more than 10 prestigious universities in America, Australia and Japan forming International Programs help students save more 50% of the total cost (tuition, accommodation, transportation, etc.) than the 4-year study abroad but still ensure quality according to international standards. In addition students will have the school counseling, support all procedures including: a guide to the visa, the visa interview; Subscribe to housing, on-campus, activities, etc. before going abroad. University students prestigious foreign degrees upon completion of phase 2 training.
1. Stages in the process

-Stage 1 (2 years): students study at the school of Ho Chi Minh City University of technology.

-Stage 2 (last year 2): students will study in prestigious universities in the us, Australia or Japan.

Accordingly, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), with only 3 ranks lower than the Vietnam National University – Ha Noi (VNU-HN), had jumped 5 ranks and currently staying at the rank 142th out of 400 universities in Asia. Within this ranking, VNU-HN stabilizes its position at the 139th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has ranked up and now being grouped in-between the 291-300.

Opposite to the rising trend of the three universities mentioned, the ranks of Hue University and Can Tho University were slightly dropped. More specifically, Hue University had dropped from 301-350 to 352-400; and Can Tho University had dropped from 251-300 to 301-500

To analyze these changes, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Vice Director of Education Quality Assurance Center, said that the results of QS ranking system have shown the overall efforts of VNU-HCM on all fields.
