The best student amongst four HCMUT students receiving the Honeywell UOP scholarship this year will win a two-month internship at the company’s headquarters in Illinois (USA).
The four HCMUT students majoring in Chemical Engineering include Tran Dang Gia Huy – Intake 2021 (English-taught Programs), and seniors from Intake 2020 Bui Thi Phuong Vy, Luu Dang Dinh Tu and Nguyen Tuan Hung (Standard and Talent Programs). They each received a 500 USD scholarship from Honeywell UOP Corporation (*).
However, the journey to conquer scholarships had yet to stop. The two-month internship at Honeywell UOP headquarters in Illinois (USA) shall be the final goal. After the ceremony, four outstanding candidates entered a private face-to-face interview with the corporation’s representative to compete for one spot to intern in the USA this July. Results are expected to be announced in a week.
Also attending the event was Tran Ngoc Phung, Intake 2018 alumnus in English-taught Programs Chemical Engineering. This female student won an internship in the USA last year and was there to share her inspirational “apprenticeship” story in a leading dynamic environment in the world’s petroleum industry.
“I am very grateful and proud to receive this scholarship. The internship gave me the opportunity to work with extremely talented and enthusiastic industry experts. I have access to green hydrogen technology – an advanced, environmental-friendly energy conversion solution that is being researched by the US and European countries.
This experience not only helped me widen my professional capacity but also realize the significance of teamwork, adaptability, and time management. In addition, I also enhanced my specialized English every day and understanding of cultures around the world,” Ngoc Phung recalled.
