Currently, the aviation industry in Vietnam has a great growth in personnel needs not only in the field of commerce but also in technology as more and more domestic airlines are participating in flight operations such as Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, Vinpearl Air, besides well-known names such as Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, and VietJet Air. At the same time, foreign air carriers coming to Vietnam are also constantly increasing. These firms often hire Vietnamese engineers to facilitate flight operations and minimize economic costs. To “take care” of a plane, it requires a team of engineers up to hundreds of people.
On the other hand, specific jobs in the aviation industry use English as the dominant communication language. Aviation engineers with good English (technical) skills will dominate higher career competition.
Facing the great demand of the aviation industry in Vietnam, from 2020, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT – Bach Khoa) opens the Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr.Tran Thien Phuc – Vice Rector of HCMUT, with the advantage of teaching and learning 100% in English, the program will train engineers to work in an international environment immediately after graduation.
Aeronautical engineers develop and ensure direct technical elements for flying vehicles, including the areas of aircraft engines, aeronautical equipment, aeronautical radios and aviation weapons.
Aeronautical Engineering program offers training on a credit basis. The number of credits, number of subjects, subject contents are designed in a manner similar to the schools in the region, as well as the reference and adjustment from the corresponding training programs of prestigious universities such as the University of Technology Sydney, The University of Adelaide (Australia), Southern Polytechnic State University (USA).
Directly taking classes are professors, associate professors, doctors and masters who are well-trained in advanced universities in the world, with rich teaching experience and scientific research achievements. This team has at least 3-8 years of teaching international training programs in English in the school from 2006 to present.
