⛤ Environmental Management & Technology provides students with general and inter-field knowledge related to law, policies, strategy planning, economy, technology, society, social perception…combining with technological solutions to environmental pollution control, so as to protect the quality of the living surrounding and sustainable economy – society development.
In general, Environmental Management & Technology is more likely about planning managerial policies (than about technical operation), which requires learners to have very broad knowledge in every field. For planning an environmental management policy, people have to deeply understand of the environment, resources, human being, creatures, water sources, customs, pedological issues…
⛤ Environmental Engineering provides students with knowledge of chemical, physical and biological processes in environmental pollution control; techniques and construction operating management or environmental control system such as disposing of urban and industrial sewage; air pollution control, disposing of solid waste and toxics; and recycle, reuse, renew wastes…
In general, Environmental Engineering is more likely about technical operation (more than policy planning). For instance, at Thu Duc Water Factory, Environmental Engineers have to know how to design, operate water treating system, and also proactively update the new technology to day-by-day improve quality and lessen operating costs.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Environmental Management & Technology undergraduate program has been implemented since 2014.
In 2016, Environmental Engineering undergraduate program is tentatively implemented for international students.
Each program takes students 4 years to complete and will be awarded degree by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Students with academic and financial eligibility can choose to transfer to study 02 final years at Griffith University in Australia. Students will be awarded degree by Griffith University.
Today, the world trend is green production and consumption. Vietnam is not out of the trend. So, the demand of engineers for this field is expected to increase more and more in the future.
