SIX NEW TRANSFER PROGRAMS WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) had the privilege to facilitate the delegation from The University of Adelaide on June 12th, 2019 and discuss, make agreement upon six new transfer programs.

The delegation included Prof. Peter Rathjen – Rector; Prof. Nancy Cromar – Vice-Rector in charge of the international branch; Assoc. Professor Yung Ngothai, Vice Director of Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Director of Strategic Partner in Vietnam region; Ms. Celine Wong – Senior Advisor in charge of Partner Relationship and International Policy.

Welcoming the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Mai Thanh Phong – Rector; Dr. Nguyen Canh Tuan – Vice Director of Office for International Study Programs (OISP); representatives of External Relations Department, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Geology and Petroleum Engineering, School of Industrial Management from HCMUT.

Upon visiting HCMUT this time, The University of Adelaide continued our discussion upon cooperation history and opportunity in the future, do a little tour of OISP, National Key Lab for Digital Control & System Engineering (DCSELAB) and Laboratory of Faculty of Chemical Engineering, etc.

The main activity of the delegation this time is to sign the agreement upon collaboration for the six new programs. All of the programs are delivered in English and follow the model of International Transfer Program, the first two years spent in HCMUT, the other left (2-3 years) in The University of Adelaide and graduates will receive certificates from The University of Adelaide.

2. Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical & Electronic) with Bachelor of Finance (double degrees)
3. Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Petroleum) with Major in Civil Engineering (combined degree)
4. Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Petroleum) with Major in Mechanical Engineering (combined degree)
5. Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Petroleum) with Major in Mining Engineering (combined degree)
6. Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Chemical) with Bachelor of Finance (double degrees)

The University of Adelaide has been HCMUT’s partner since 2006 through transfer programs in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Information Technology. All of the international programs are managed and operated by OISP.

Moreover, apart from visiting and working at HCMUT, the delegation from The University of Adelaide also had a meeting with former Vietnamese students who had studied at The University of Adelaide.
