– Environment is Multi-discipline so following to this study, you must have the knowledge and interdisciplinary basic in biology, chemistry, physics, management, law  … Then you will go under the specialized field that you are interested in and likely the best as water treatment and waste, environmental impact assessments, product patents protecting the environment … I attended PhD Environmental Technology Managment by Scholars of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. And the industry can use the combination of my expertise : the Environmental Biotechnology and Business Administration and Marketing.

* What will Environmental Management and Technology teach?

– Graduates environmental sector can undertake research, management, staff, engineers at research centers, environmental management agencies, international organizations, non-governmental projects on the environment schools, water supply and sewerage companies, corporate environmental consulting solutions, manufacturing plants, environmental management in industrial parks, export processing … In all companies, factories specialized now almost all have environmental engineers need to perform management, patents, production and sales of products, technologies, processes serve man in a green, clean, saving and environmental protection field.

* In Vietnam, the society has no good look  about the environment sector (frequently exposed to pollution, smelly, toxic) as well as the work of environmental engineers (not respectable as the other engineers in the field of construction, pharmaceutical, electronics …). How to reverse the thinking of society in a positive direction?

– General working conditions and labor process in Vietnam is poor should almost always work in the industry to meet the contamination, toxic if not applicable safeguards. Specifically, the doctor also has pathogen exposure, pharmaceutical engineers also exposed to chemicals, office worker sitting at a computer for hours … It is important that the work / labor compliance standards to reduce the impact of career. Working in the environmental sector, the work will be more consciously and clearly understand the basic rules of hygiene measures and instruments to protect themselves when work.

Opposite to the rising trend of the three universities mentioned, the ranks of Hue University and Can Tho University were slightly dropped. More specifically, Hue University had dropped from 301-350 to 352-400; and Can Tho University had dropped from 251-300 to 301-500

– It is hard-working, good team work and love nature.

* How do you assess the importance of the English Program in HCMUT to this sector?

– A fact that’s almost all graduates from environmental engineering sectors have scholarships postgraduate study or work in an international environment because they did good at English. Currently, scholarships to study in Japan, Europe, USA … for the environment sector is extremely much, you will not have to compete fiercely as in other sectors, as long as you have quite a good command of English.
