WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH A BACHELOR DEGREE IN BRIDGE & HIGHWAY ENGINEERING?

|

Bridge and Highway Engineering is the application of technology and scientific principles to the planning, functional design, operation and management of facilities to provide for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compatible movement of people and goods.

Moving into this specialisation, you may find yourself working in tandem with the planners so many of the aspects of planning specialists will apply to engineers, however, your focus will be on making a project become a reality. Day-to-day tasks will include carrying out feasibility studies for construction and implementation, creating detailed designs, putting together proposals, liaising with architects, subcontractors, other engineers, consultants and planners, creating or reviewing drawings using CAD software and a lot of mathematics, so this role won’t be for the faint-hearted.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, civil engineering jobs, especially bridge and highway are set to increase by 10% by 2026. Salaries tend to start at around $60,000 and rise to around $96,000 for later career incomes.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT – Bach Khoa), we provides a Bachelor’s degree in Bridge and Highway Engineering, the program is taught in English. After 4 years, students will develop knowledge and skills in the planning, design, construction and implementation of building and infrastructure facilities specialized in roadways and bridges.
