Programme Highlights

The Intensive English Program at OISP is a program of concentrated study of English which targets to serve the diverse needs of students planning a continuation into university. The program does not only teach students English in isolation but adapts its instructional approach to prepare them to succeed in a university environment.

The programme is divided into 4 major course groups:

 

Course	Requirement	Estimated on completion
PRE-IELTS (Foundation)	For students who do not have the required level to enter the IELTS preparation course or are currently in the IELTS band 3.0 or equivalent	4.0 – 4.5
IELTS GO 1 (Pathway)	For students who are currently in the IELTS band 4.0	5.5 – 6.0
IELTS GO 2 (Preparation)	For students who are currently in the IELTS band 6.0	6.5 – 7.0
IELTS GO 3 (Extension Skills)	For students who are currently in the IELTS band 6.5 and above	7.0 – above

 

–         The course length for each course level varies according to the course.

 

–         As for the mode of study, the students can enroll in the full-time or part-time course.

 

–         Students are assessed continuously during the course through a series of assignments and on-going tests.

 

Placement Test

 

A placement test will be administered prior to enrolment in a programme to ensure students are placed at the correct band level which will help remedy their language deficiencies.

–         Individual tutorial: Full support throughout the course from experienced tutors and access to a tutor by appointment and/or via e-mail

–         Self-access practice: Further practice 100% online at any time

–         English forum: An IELTS forum to further enhance learning
